We love Sundays

We are Sunday-Lovers at this house. We went to church this morning and then came home and took naps for 2 hours. I love having a day of the week where all we do is relax and spend time as a family. Tonight, we went for a family bike ride (which the girls LOVE doing) and then cooked steak and potatos on the BBQ. What a great day!

Drilling

I went out to one of our rigs in the Bass Strait this past week. I had a good time and really learned a lot. I spend so much time in the office writing procedures for the rigs to use, so it's really great to be able to get out there and see it all happening. It was cool to see all of the seals who just hung out near - and on - the platform.

I was really glad to get home. Life on the rig is a little different than life in the Harline home. I was especially glad to come home to a clean house and a wife that doesn't tell dirty jokes.

Go, Haylee, Go!!

And....she's off! Haylee is now officially crawling! Yay! She is so happy to be able to get around by herself. She especially loves to follow her big sis! Haylee found the toy corner all by herself today and was so tickled over it. It was so cute. She giggled at herself the entire time she explored. Go Haylee baby!!

The Twelve Apostles

This past weekend, we took a trip about 2.5 hours southwest to Port Campbell to see The Twelve Apostles Coastline. It was absolutely breathtaking. We just kept saying, "I can't believe how beautiful this is!" - we could hardly take it all in! We also got to take a tour through a lighthouse built in the 1800's. We got to go all the way to the top and it was incredible! Natural beauty like this makes me so grateful for our Father in Heaven and His creations.

My sister, Janelle, came to visit from Texas and she told us she isn't going back! ha ha....I think her husband would be sad! We are really enjoying having her here - especially the little girls! They love their Aunty Janelle!

Zoo Day!...and a little something else

My sister, Janelle, is here visiting and we took the girls to the Melbourne Zoo. It was a beautiful day! Gracie and Haylee really enjoyed all of the sights and sounds of the animals. A HUGE peacock came right up to Grace while we were having a picnic and she fed it some bread. It just ate right out of her hand! Crazy! I'm so glad we went!

So while we were enjoying the sights of the animals and beautiful surroundings, everyone else at the zoo was enjoying the sight of my under-roos....I had a split right down the back of pants! How embarrassing!!! When I finally noticed, I quickly tied my jacket around my waist - thank goodness I had it!

Bathing Beauties

Aren't these the sweetest little girls you've ever seen?! We are in love, that's for sure! They just love playing in the bath together....so cute! (And, yes, that is a lovey in the bath with them...I'm a sucker.)

Beautiful Weekend

This past weekend, we went up to the mountains to an animal sanctuary. We had a wonderful time and the weather was just fantastic! We're just coming into the Spring season here, so the weather couldn't be more beautiful.

We were able to get up close and personal to the animals at the sanctuary which was very neat. However, I did get a bit nervous at times being so close to wild animals!!

Grace loved every minute of it - she ran around in the warm sunshine looking for more animals. So cute! Haylee was just as content as could be being pushed in the stroller - she is such a sweetie!

I love being a mom...

Okay, so there are certainly those days that being a mom isn't the most glamorous and fabulous... let's all be honest here! However, then there are those teeny, tiny little moments that make being a mom the most fantastic, wonderful, and fulfilling thing ever! Here's what happened...

I put Gracie to bed without her lovie (pink blanket) because it was in the dryer. She was still awake in her bed singing when the dryer buzzed, so I decided to take lovie in to her. It was still warm when I snuggled it all around her face. She smiled up at me and said, "Day-do, Mama!" ("thank you" for the un-trained ear) Oh my sweetness!!!! Let me just say that my heart did a happy flip in my chest!

Sometimes, right in the middle of everything crazy, I'll close my eyes and say a little prayer of gratitude for my little monkeys. I love being a mom. I really, really do.
