Just Beautifully said....

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you,
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might that His arrows might go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.

Ouch!!

I'd rather go shopping with this money...I really think jail time would be worth it. At least in jail I'd get to nap all day and have someone cook for me, right?? :) Man alive, I didn't want to write this check!
(Don't worry...our taxes aren't late :) Being on an international assignment, we get extra time.)

Papa & Mimi's boat

This past Saturday, we took Gracie & Haylee out for their first boat ride on Mimi & Papa's (my parents) boat. They loved it! I'm so glad they loved it because I really want them to love being out on the boat and in the water. It was a beautiful morning and we all had a really fun time together - the little girls were glad Aunt Keisha gave up her Saturday morning sleep-in to come along :)

hi, baby girl!

I am so thrilled about this third baby girl! People have asked me if I'm disappointed it's not a boy, and I just laugh! Bruce and I are honestly giddy over having another sweet little girl.

These are a couple of the fantastic shots from the ultrasound. She's such a good girl already sucking her thumb! I love her!

Profile shot. Bum on your left. Head on your right. Curled up (of course!). Mouth open. Hand in a fist. Thumb sticking out. Goin' for the suck....

...and, score! Got the thumb! Now fist is relaxed. 4 teeny, tiny little fingers sticking up. Great shot of the bones in the arm and leg! (You can faintly see the fingers on her other hand in the backgound.)

Little tushies in little swimsuits

I don't know about you, but I think my little girls look so stinkin' cute in their swimsuits! I love their little tushies and I love it when they get wedgies! So dang adorable! Grace & Haylee are loving having Daddy here for the week. It was nice to spend a relaxing eveing just playing in the backyard at Grandma Marilyn's house.

ExxonMobil Picnic

Bruce had to come to the States for a conference this past week, which worked out well because we all went to the Exxon family picnic together. They served amazing Texas BBQ and had great things for the kids to do. Haylee & Grace loved the merry-go-round (it was their first ever!). Grace also loved the boat ride, but Haylee wouldn't even let us set her down in the boat. No way! :)

19 weeks

Here I am at 19 weeks pregnant! I'm feeling great - no more nausea and head in the toilet! Yay! We find out this Wednesday the 13th if we are having a little girl or little boy! We can't wait!!!

Our little peanut

These are the ultrasound pictures from my 16 week appointment - I'm a little behind on posting them. Better late then never, right?!
Anyhow, I think they are great pics of our little peanut! The first is a profile shot with the baby's head tilted back and the chest. The second is a great head/face profile shot - I love that cute nose, lips, and chin!

I want this....

This is the best swaddle blanket I've ever seen!! It's called the Snug and Tug. I saw it on Oprah and then again on Good Morning America. I'm seriously going to buy a dozen of them for this upcoming baby!!

Check it out on the official website http://www.gomamagodesigns.com/ (but you can also get it off Target.com and Amazon.com)

I am such a believer in swaddling. I don't usually give new parents advice - because let's all be honest...we've all been there and it's annoying! However, if I'm asked for one piece of advice, I always say, "Get a good swaddle blanket! It will save your life & your baby will thank you!" Don't you agree???

Pull my hair out!!!

So, we all know how frustrating dealing with your health insurance company is, right?? Yeah, well try dealing with it when you're on an international assignment and want to see a doctor while in America. Holy frustrating. (Grace has to go see a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon this Friday because our Pediatrician thinks the Tibia in Grace's left leg is growing crooked.) Anyhow, we obviously don't have insurance cards to use in the US, but the dr here needs to verify coverage before the appointment. Sheesh! I've been on the phone with Aetna for almost 4 hours straight this morning...and I'm still on hold as I type this......
